Pack by frequency of use rather than emptying every room at once.
First week: the non-essentials
Gather supplies, set up a donation pile and pack books, decor and seasonal items. Label each box with destination room and a short contents note. Photograph cable arrangements and furniture fittings before disassembly.
Final week: daily life
Pack most kitchenware and clothing while leaving a small working set. Prepare separate bags for medicine, documents, chargers and the first night. The evening before the move, check box count against your inventory and keep a clear path to the door.
