Choose a date with enough time to prepare access and packing.
Work backward from handover
As soon as the new address and key date are reasonably certain, request availability. Busy dates can offer less flexibility; if your lease dates overlap, use that margin to avoid a rushed same-day handover.
Leave room for changes
Before confirming, check when a building elevator can be reserved and when the truck may stop nearby. Tell the mover if the date depends on a contractor or a landlord. Agree in advance how a postponement is handled.
