Sofas differ in more than length: depth, back shape, sleeper mechanism and detachable modules determine whether a piece fits the lift and how it should be protected. Send dimensions and photos of the sofa and narrow access points for a useful quote.
Types we move
The right approach depends on construction and building access. Mention the relevant version when requesting a quote.
Straight two- or three-seater
Check the turning diagonal as well as length. Removable feet sometimes provide the missing clearance.
Corner or U-shaped
Find out whether the sections detach; measure and wrap each section separately.
Modular sofa
Number the modules and photograph the connections so the configuration can be rebuilt at delivery.
Sleeper or recliner
Secure the mechanism for transport; collect cables and remotes separately on powered models.
Route from room to truck
Measure the door, lift, stair landings and corridor turns. Mention any long carry from entrance to parking. If the sofa will not fit, discuss detachable parts or an external lift ahead of time.
Protect upholstery
Pack loose cushions and removable legs separately. Cover fabric with clean material and reinforce corners. Never tape directly onto leather or upholstery.
Unload and position
Tell the crew the destination room and corner orientation. Test the sleeper or recliner mechanism after assembly while the packaging and hardware are still at hand.
