Table moving
A table may be extendable, glass-topped, stone or solid wood. Top weight, leg length and the fittings determine whether it needs dismantling and how it can be loaded.
Types we move
The right approach depends on construction and building access. Mention the relevant version when requesting a quote.
Wooden dining table
Protect edges and finish, particularly when a large top does not separate.
Extendable table
Remove or secure leaves and the mechanism so nothing opens in transit.
Glass-top table
Usually pack the top separately with rigid protection and check the base for stability.
Stone or ceramic top
Disclose its real weight and lifting needs; it cannot be planned like an ordinary wooden table.
Measure table and route
Share length, width, approximate top weight and whether legs detach. Check doors, lift and stairs at both addresses. Photograph underside fittings on a large table.
Separate components
Label legs and fittings for reassembly. Protect the top from impact and pressure by other items; thin glass and stone need especially stable placement.
Assemble and position
Choose the table location and allow space for assembly before unloading. Then check stability, fittings and the extension mechanism.
